Winter is over

Winter is over

The advantage of living in a small hamlet is that nothing is ever happening. The only thing changing is the weather. But last winter we have seen so much rain that it became news worthy. This region became a news item all over Europe, with flooding caused by the rain.

I installed a weather station, and when you look at the history….

Al that rain was good for my trees, which I planted last years. Of the more than 20 trees planted, there is just one who did not survive. But to be honest, on two trees the verdict is still open, they are struggling. Not due to a lack of water though :-). And you might have missed it, but Google maps updated their maps. My trees can now be seen by people all over the world. (as long as they have good eyes, they are small trees). A bit of a disappointment that Google just renewed when the roof of the shed was missing. During one of the winter storms, the wind came under the roof and as the wood to which it was attached had known better times, the wind blew it away.  We now have a brand new roof, but it will take a couple of years before we can see it on Google.

Another news worthy item, the hamlet is filling up. There is an additional house that is now permanently lived in, that brings the total on 5 out of 8 houses. Only three holiday homes.

Speaking about houses, one of the houses is for sale .

So if you are looking for something….

  1. Zo mooi geschreven Lars.
Zal ik even op google maps proberen de bomen in jullie prachtige tuin te tellen?
Het is altijd fijn om in jullie gehucht te (ver-)dwalen.
    Tot binnenkort 😁
