But the old shed was a bit of a Frankenstein building. There were some big wooden posts (from a previous building) and in between blocks on a concrete foundation. But these block walls were no longer attached to the wooden posts. So basically they were a collection of 2 to 3 meter straight walls, inter spaced with old oak. A slight push to a wall was enough to bring it down.

And that was what I did, 5 pushes, and now the posts had to come out. As Paul (if it was Paul, I never asked him) had used small blocks, he only needed a light foundation. Knowing my masonry skills (non-existent) I opted for the big blocks. 20cm blocks are more stable with my skills. That needed an upgrade of the foundation, so that is where I started. A reinforced concrete foundation.

Looking over my first layer of stones I went back to the start of my career, I became sea sick again. But the higher I get, the straighter the walls become. There is hope for me yet.

Will be continued.

And I do think there is a job for next year as well. My compost system is all what keeps another wall up.

Last winter we had a bit of storm damage.
